Mena Alexandra Suvari (born February 13 1979) is a famous American model, actress and fashion designer. model. She began her modeling career in the year 1990, and then moved into acting, after appearances in television shows like Boy Meets World or High Incident. The actress made her debut in film in 1997's drama film Nowhere. After her performance on the screen in American Beauty (for which she won an award from the BAFTA Award) and American Pie that attracted much attention, she completed the transition to major parts. She has appeared with American Pie's Co-Star Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) and then played the role of lead for the film Sugar & Spice (2001). The year 2002 saw her appeared in Spun the independent drama and in 2004's thriller Trauma. The actress was a part of HBO's drama show Six Feet Under. In 2004 she was nominated as the Outstanding Cast Member at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008 she was cast in a series of movies including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the adaptation film of The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been a model on behalf of Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she has also appeared on several blogs and fashion magazines such as Vogue. She is an active advocate and supporter of the African Medical and Research Foundation. Also, she is involved in women's empowerment issues and collaborates with various organizations to support breast cancer awareness and women's rights and the End Violence Against Women Campaign.
